We join local people for wildlife conservation and economic empowerment. Together we support traditional and sustainable ways of living in harmony with wildlife, ecosystems and the environment.
Established in 2004, the Kicheche Community Trust has become a reliable source of funding for projects in and around the conservancy communities where Kicheche operates. Our mission is to encourage the preservation of the environment whilst improving the welfare of the community through improved health and education facilities. We strive to empower the community through training and revenue-earning projects, too. The Trust builds on four corner posts of Community Welfare:
EDUCATION
The importance of education is paramount. We promote education through the provision of classrooms, bursaries, schoolbooks and educational awareness programs.
HEALTHCARE
Good healthcare is a basic right. Through our awareness campaigns and regular clinic support, we can improve the necessary care for our communities.
EMPOWERMENT
We wish to better the lives of our communities in the long run, by means of revenue-earning projects, self-help groups and digital skills training programs.
CONSERVATION
Protecting the environment and promoting conservation through awareness campaigns within the conservancies or privately run projects.
