Classic Africa. Undeniably Kicheche.
In the heart of the Mara North Conservancy, this camp offers an intimate tented safari where nature unfolds at your doorstep. Situated above a stream, each luxury tent overlooks a corridor teeming with birdlife and roaming plains game — a stage set for unforgettable sightings, often before you even leave camp.
Guided by our expert safari guides, every game drive immerses you in one of Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife areas. Their deep knowledge and intuition transform every encounter into a barely believable story. Families are welcomed with a thoughtfully designed suite — two ensuite bedrooms linked by a private lounge — the perfect retreat for shared moments after days spent exploring the savannah.
Location
Mara North Conservancy (73,000 acres)
Bordering the iconic Masai Mara Reserve, Mara North Conservancy is one of Kenya’s largest, most celebrated and certainly most beautiful private conservancies — proudly included on the IUCN Green List for its world-class conservation standards.
Home to exceptional year-round game viewing, this pristine Acacia Valley is where wildlife roams freely — often right through camp. Guided by our expert Maasai guides, you’ll explore a landscape where lions rule, elephants roam, and the great migration passes by.
Formed through a pioneering partnership with over 800 Maasai landowners, Mara North Conservancy protects both wildlife and livelihoods. Land is leased directly from the community, ensuring stable income while safeguarding this vital ecosystem for generations to come.
Access is seamless, a 30-minute drive from Mara North Airstrip, placing you at the heart of Kenya’s premier safari experience.
When it is dry the river valley running through the camp is perhaps the most fertile in the Mara and has an astonishing game, often adjacent to tents.

In it for The Long Run
Kicheche Mara North is a proud member of The Long Run, one of the world’s largest sustainable development initiatives led by nature-based businesses. The vision of the organization is of a world in which business, nature and people work harmoniously together for a sustainable future.
The 4Cs is a framework that integrates sustainable and regenerative practices into any travel business. Designed by practitioners and experts, both proven and flexible, it makes strategic and holistic sustainability more accessible, breaking it down into four chunks:
To perpetuate our model of conservation to prolong our prolific wildlife and biodiversity. Committed to sustainable operations and effective waste management.
We want social and economic empowerment to be able to influence the policies that govern wildlife and biodiversity conservation. Employment opportunities for the locals, who support their families of 8 to 10 members.
The destination’s vibrant culture is a key element in the attractiveness of the destination, and our aim is to enable the conscious Kicheche traveller to have a positive impact on the local communities. Beading lessons with local Maasai women and storytelling with guides.
To offer guests a safari with a purpose, a premium safari experience while contributing to the preservation of the local biodiversity and the well-being of communities.
Gold Eco Rating
We value environmental conservation, and our camps are audited every two years by EcoTourism Kenya. All Kicheche Camps have maintained Gold level for many years, the highest accolade that can be achieved. This entails encouraging the adoption of best practices in the use of tourism resources, working with local communities and managing waste and emissions. All Kicheche Camps are powered exclusively by our ‘Solar Trees’ made up of solar panels designed to track the sun throughout the day. Water is heated with solar energy, and sustainable charcoal and LPG are used in our kitchens.
