Pics Elated
Sometimes spots are just too stubborn to disappear. After well over a thousand painstakingly researched, collated and produced publications, Spot clambered up the tree of retirement to lie in repose, prostrated over a weathered acacia branch. However, the constant questions gnawed at its roots until it cracked and fell and has, after an invigorating rest, returned.
And what better way to start than with Mike Cohen, who recently discovered the trinity of our conservancy camps and has pictures to prove it. A tawny eagle swooping on a jackal, giraffes posing in rainbows, lions with carry-on goods, Kulete hunting, and leopards with a hare hors d’oeuvre before a gazelle takedown are a few carats of his high-water jewels.
Talking of trinities, he had the seasoned one of Jimmy, James and Bernard: ‘One of the things that impressed me about Kicheche was the great respect they all had for one another and their environment.’ Thanks, we all do, Mike, a bedrock going back 26 years now.

Spot’s back, but the magic hadn’t gone away. Thank you Mike for some superb images from what was evidently a superb safari.

We like them to change lives, and this one was so good we’re not sure if he knew if he was coming or Cohen.
