The Martens have travelled to Kicheche so many times (critically bounteously in the last two years) that they are almost part of the furniture. With a pair of gorgeous girls, they clearly feel completely at home in the bush and particularly at the eponymously named Kicheche camp there.

Witnessing a kill is dramatic and shocking often in equal measure with no correct reaction, but to see the Enkoyanai girls dragging down an adult zebra virtually on the end of Carl’s lens was astonishing as were the frequent cheetah action sequences and cameos.

All three Mara Conservancy camps are reporting remarkable spotted sightings from the bad boys Kiraposhe’s cheetah brothers to the indefatigable Nalangu ( 13 years old) in Mara North with her 10-month-old cub, and Olare, (Fig’s son) making himself at home a mere metre from Andrew Obaga’s tent at Mara Camp.
Mara Naboisho conservancy is also bursting at the seams with big cats, namely the flourishing Sampu Enkare breakaway pride, which has now reached 30 members.
