Rain, grown-up rain, clear skies then 1500+ metres of altitude going to work on the saturated short-grass of Naboisho Conservancy produces mist …. a photographer’s dream. However lions playing over their meal …. killers in the mist …. do not earn the garlands this week.

An arboreal leopard is enough to raise the pulse of any faunal aficionado, however when it is one which has chased a nocturnal genet from its kill (a goat …. oops) it rightly throws the lions off their assumed perch.

A one-hour impasse then ensued before the small interloper finally jumped. Was it captured on camera … of course not, but it is not forgotten. Nice work Johnson, Patrick & Nelson.
Patrick said he had never seen it before …….. which means it has never happened!
