Wildlife is never measured analytically, it is only rarely about accumulation and should never be about boorish point scoring. For a moment though pity Nelson Kasoe, a Bush Camp guide not without a good sprinkling of Kicheche stardust. Nelson guides the Westbrooks’s who, last month took their tally of Kicheche nights to over 300. They fly several times each year to join all our camps … from Brisbane! So have some sympathy for Nelson as yet again he has to raise the spotters bar. He has succeeded, spectacularly so.
Any sighting of Fig is a cherished one, but one with her delectable daughter is another thing altogether. Throw in the almost disdainful Daddy and you have this dappled Conservancy at her fertile best.

Of course first timers might just run into this scenario invoking a frankly obscene level of good fortune … do they deserve it, probably not …. do Bill and his videographer wife Babs .. oh yes. Please watch this video, save it, revisit it, share it and gorge yourselves on it. Skills, big skills, the pair of you, but three leopards F.F.S. a bit greedy, not cricket really, sorry your lot didn’t get more of a test at H.Q. this week Bill!
