This week our favourite is Leanne Cockayne. She had had her night disturbed as some local lions (Tikki’s daughters) had brought down a zebra close to the Valley Camp massage and aromatherapy chalet. The following morning Bernard, their guide, a man never short on knowledge or advice was the first man to see them as they scoffed a fresh wildebeest. A young jackal had heard the spike of noise levels and investigated, hoping for some shallow returns but got the tables turned on him. Jackals are normally permitted a bit of skin but this time the sub adults were in no mood to share the spoils and the fox-like scamp paid the ultimate price.

In best supporting role Kiraposho’s daughter dragged down a gazelle. A cheetah might not have the box office of a black panther, but one in full flight still elicits gasps unrelated to the disingenuous self-absorbed applause from Hollywood. With some light rains and bounteous sunshine, the Naboisho plains are turning green. Book now to avoid disappointment (sorry)……
