Spotters, meet Murray, no stranger to this mercurial mail-out and indeed one of Bush Camp’s favourite sons. Murray has been a regular for many years but this January has outdone himself, with a whole pick and mix of cats with their candy-faced cubs. Both he and his fabled guide James are no strangers to sights like this, but these really are remarkable and the pair of them must have been like kids in a sweet store.

At Spot HQ our favourite was the serval, or at least part of it: just as not every chocolate in the tin is quality – some sucker has to have the musty orange creams – so not every moment is perfectly captured.

But, as this is his seventh safari he understands patience is a must rather than a virtue and, as we all know … you never hurry a Murray*
*As Murray is Canadian he will not understand a single one of these confectionary metaphors.

‘The journey home has started but I am already planning my next visit, I have run out of words to say ‘thank you’. Even after the seventh time my eyes still get a little misty saying goodbye … it’s my happy place!’
