Lavish rains have leavened the plains, turning manicured lawns into brilliant basil baize with the oat grass ears turning yellower than a strip of match-fixing tape. These biblical downpours have done their best to thwart game drives, but with only partial success, as it seems the punishing precipitation has only cleansed and invigorated spirits of staff, guests and animals alike.
From a burgeoning portfolio of images this week we have permed three moments of genius: two from Bush camp – thanks Jason and a spotted pot of gold at the end of a Mara North rainbow – top work Charlie.
These two are our raining champions for now but it appears the end of the season is going to be our most colourful and rewarding – the uninitiated call it low-season, the Kicheche alumni call it special season: it appears the cats know it too.
